Mumbai: Indian businessman Raj Kundra, who was arrested in a pornographic film-making case and later released on bail, says he has never been involved in pornographic films in his life.
In July this year, businessman Raj Kandra, husband of Indian actress Shilpa Shetty, was arrested on charges of making pornographic films and broadcasting them on a mobile app. The court later released him on bail two months later.
Raj Kandra had maintained complete silence after his release from jail but yesterday he issued a statement regarding the case. In a statement issued on social media, Raj Kandra said that a campaign was launched against him in the pornography case.
"My silence is being misunderstood and many misleading and irresponsible statements and articles are circulating against me in the media," he said. I want to say that I have never in my life been involved in creating or distributing pornographic material.
"The media has already convicted me," said Raj Kandra. However, now I want my media trial to be closed. Because it constantly hurts me and my family. In addition, my human and constitutional rights are being violated at various levels.
"I do not hide my shame, but with this ongoing media trial, my life and privacy will no longer be compromised," said the Indian businessman.
It should be noted that after the arrest of Raj Kandra, several actresses had come forward and made statements against Raj Kundra and actress Sherlyn Chopra had accused Raj Kandra of sexual abuse.
