Neighboring Iran has taken to the streets against the government over water shortages.
According to Iranian media, the water crisis in the western province of Chahar Mahal Bakhtiari has been going on for the past several days, which has now taken a serious turn. People took to the streets against the water crisis and demanded water supply from the government. The protesters said that their share of water was being given to other provinces which is haraam.
In addition, due to the dryness of the river, there is a shortage of water in Isfahan, against which protests have been going on for the last several days. In Isfahan, thousands of farmers and ordinary citizens took to the streets to protest their demands.
Keep in mind that Iran has been facing a famine situation for the past five decades. In such a situation, part of the water available in the provinces is being given to the drought prone provinces which has resulted in shortage of water in the provinces.
