During the G-20 conference in the Italian capital, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan met with his US counterpart Joe Biden and demanded the supply of fighter jets.
According to the World News Agency, tensions between Turkey and the United States remain high, but the Turkish President took advantage of the G20 summit in Italy and met with his US counterpart on the sidelines to signal the resumption of relations.
President Tayyip Erdogan demanded that the US President provide F-16 fighter jets as per the agreement, while the US President, expressing his concerns and reservations, reiterated his demand to stop the purchase of S-400 defense system from Russia.
The meeting between Tayyip Erdogan and Joe Biden also discussed the issue of deportation from Ankara, calling US diplomats undesirable.
It may be recalled that Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan had asked several other Western diplomats, including the US ambassador, to leave the country, calling them undesirable figures, but the Turkish president later withdrew the decision.
It should also be noted that the United States, despite providing money to Turkey, refused to provide F-16 aircraft and training on the condition that Turkey abandon the agreement to buy S-400 defense system from Russia.
