British aero engine company Rolls-Royce has claimed to have built the world's fastest electric aircraft. In a statement issued by Rolls-Royce, this aircraft has been named as the spirit of innovation.
The aircraft managed to fly at a speed of 387.4 miles per hour and it is the fastest electric ride in the world. At a speed of 1.86 miles per hour, the plane traveled 9.32 miles at the British Ministry of Defense's military testing site at a speed of more than 300 miles per hour, which is 182 miles per hour higher than the previous record. Rolls-Royce's director of flight operations flew the plane on a test flight, saying it was the most important moment of his career. "This aircraft is capable of electric flight and will help unlock technologies that we can incorporate into everyday life," said Quasi Quarting, the UK's business secretary.
