Government's request to NEPRA to increase electricity price, hearing completed

 

NEPRA has completed the hearing on the request of the federal government to increase the price of electricity from Rs1.39 to Rs1.68 per unit for electricity consumers across the country.

Chairman NEPRA Tauseef H. Farooqi presided over the hearing of the federal government's request to increase the price of electricity.

The hearing on the government's request for increase in electricity prices in NEPRA has been completed. The decision will be issued by NEPRA later.

According to Power Division officials, the request for increase in electricity rates is for consumers of all companies, including Electric.

Power Division officials say that if the average price of electricity for all increases, the increase will be Rs 1.39 per unit.
