Hollywood film production company Walt Disney Studios and well-known actress Scarlett Johansson have reached an agreement on the issue of not releasing the mega-budget film 'Black Widow' in cinemas.
Scarlett Johansson filed a civil lawsuit against Walt Disney Studios in Los Angeles in July this year.
The actress had alleged to the studio that the production company had violated the agreement made with her by trying to reduce her earnings by releasing the film 'Black Widow' on streaming websites instead of cinemas.
Two months after the lawsuit was filed, both sides have now confirmed that matters have been settled.
According to the Associated Press (AP), statements issued by Scarlett Johnson and Walt Disney confirmed that the two sides have reconciled and are hopeful of working together again.
After reconciliation between the two parties, documents were also submitted to the court to end the civil case.
In a statement issued after the reconciliation, Scarlett Johansson expressed happiness and said she was looking forward to working with Disney's creative team again in the future and was proud to have 'Black Widow' on screen.
The chairman of Walt Disney Studios also expressed happiness over the signing of the agreement and said that he acknowledges the services of the actress and is ready to work with her on various projects in the future as well.
The two sides confirmed the reconciliation and expressed happiness over the agreement, but did not specify the terms of the reconciliation between them and how much money the actress demanded.
Earlier, Disney had said that they did not deliberately release the film on a streaming website instead of in cinemas, but because of the closure of cinemas due to the Corona epidemic.
At the same time, the studio had said that despite this, Scarlett Johansson has been paid $20 million more than the agreed amount, but despite this, the actress had filed a lawsuit against Disney.
Black Widow was released on a limited scale in cinemas around the world in early July after a three-year delay.
The film stars Scarlett Johansson in the lead role of Black Widow. She has been playing the role of Black Widow in Disney Studios superhero films for over a decade.
Black Widow is his first solo film starring her and she is also the executive producer of the same film.
