Six migrants were killed and several others were injured when security guards opened fire on a Libyan prison during a riot.
According to the international news agency, a fight broke out between the prisoners in the detention center located in the western part of Tripoli in Libya, which caused chaos in the prison and during this time, the security guards opened fire indiscriminately.
Security forces opened fire, killing six migrants and injuring several others. More than 5,000 migrants, including 500 women and 60 children, were transferred to the prison last week.
A statement issued by the United Nations condemned the incident and said that necessary steps should be taken to ensure the safety of migrants.
