Competing against Pakistan is like a normal match for us, Virat Kohli

Cricket fans around the world are eagerly awaiting the first Pak-India match in the T20 World Cup to be played on October 24.

In such a situation, Indian captain Virat Kohli considers this important match as a match like other matches for his team. He says that on the other hand, there is a lot of excitement in both the countries.

Talking to the media in the UAE, the Indian captain, when asked if playing against Pakistan feels different from other teams, said, "The truth is that I have never felt that way."

"I always think of this match as a cricket match. I know there is a lot of excitement about this match and there is a huge demand for tickets," he said.

Virat Kohli jokingly said that he refuses to give free tickets to his friends for high profile matches.

"The ticket price has gone up dramatically at the moment, so I know my friends will ask for tickets and I will refuse," he said.

The Indian cricketer acknowledged that the fans' eagerness and enthusiasm for the match against traditional rivals set the match apart.

"Yes, you can say that the atmosphere is different. From the point of view of the fans, it is definitely a great competition. As far as the players are concerned, we have to stay as professional as we can," he said.

It should be noted that this tournament was to be held in India but due to the outbreak of Corona virus, it was shifted to the United Arab Emirates.

It may be recalled that the second match of the T20 World Cup match between Pakistan and India will be played on October 24. Pakistan has won the last 10 T20 Internationals in the UAE.

On October 16, Pakistan captain Babar Azam said in a statement that his team had an advantage against India because of this.

"We have played a lot of cricket in the UAE, the conditions here are right for us and we know how to play here," he said when asked about the five-match defeat against India in the T20 World Cup.
