A car bomb blast near the Yemeni city of Aden has killed at least five people.
According to Arab media, a car bomb had exploded near the governor's convoy in the Yemeni city of Aden, killing five people. Fortunately, the governor and the agriculture minister survived the suicide car bombing.
A military spokesman said in a statement that five people, including three soldiers, were injured in the blast.
Aden Governor Ahmed Lamlas, who narrowly escaped the blast, is also the general secretary of the separatist party Southern Transitional Council, while Agriculture Minister Saleem al-Suqatri was also a member of the party.
The separatist party, the Southern Transitional Council, is a UAE-backed party and has been playing a key role in resisting Houthi rebels.
Clashes between coalition forces and Houthi rebels have been raging in Yemen since 2015, killing more than 200,000 people and displacing nearly 1 million.
