Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that there is no area of the country where parents do not want their daughters to be educated but in Western countries there is an impression that we do not want to educate our daughters.
Addressing the launching ceremony of scholarships for deserving students under Ehsas program in Islamabad, the Prime Minister said that the biggest asset of the country is its people, when people are not educated, they would lose their capital. Yes, 20 million children are out of school in our country, we did not pay special attention to the education of our daughters. It was the responsibility of the government to provide facilities which were not provided. I especially appreciate that we should encourage girls to come to school.
The Prime Minister said that a large section of the country's population is deprived of education, an educated woman benefits society more than a man because she educates her children, she changes the home system. And the health and better care of children at home has a huge impact on society.
The Prime Minister said that in Western countries there is an impression that it is not as if we do not want to educate our daughters, there is no area where parents do not want to educate their daughters. Many times schools are far away or there are no teachers in the schools at all, more concessions have been given to girls in the Ehsas program, the education stipend for boys is Rs. 1,500 while for girls it is Rs. 2,000.
