Lawyers for British-American Virginia Robert Goofy have claimed they sent a legal notice to the Queen's youngest son, Prince Andrew, 61.
Virginia Robert Goofy filed a civil lawsuit against Prince Andrew in August in New York City, the capital of the US state of New York.
Virginia's Robert Goofy accused Prince Andrew of having consensual sex at an early age in 2019, which was denied by the Queen's son.
Later, on August 10, the woman filed a civil lawsuit against Prince Andrew for having sex without her consent and threatening her before she reached puberty.
And now the woman has sent a legal notice to Prince Andrew about the lawsuit.
According to the Associated Press (AP), Virginia's Robert Goofy's lawyers claim that they gave a legal notice to a Metropolitan Police officer on duty at the gate of Prince Andrew's Windsor Castle home on August 27.
According to the woman's lawyers, a notice was issued to the police officer stationed outside Prince Andrew's house at 9:30 am.
In this regard, the AP quoted the British newspaper 'Daily Mail' as saying that in the notice sent by the woman, Prince Andrew has been given 21 days to reply or explain.
According to the report, the legal notice said that if Prince Andrew failed to respond or explain, he would be found guilty and a self-incrimination case would be filed against him.
On the matter, legal experts said that Prince Andrew was trapped by both sides and if he did not respond to the notice, the court could automatically convict him and order him to pay a fine.
According to experts, even if Prince Andrew intends to fight a legal battle by responding to the notice, he will have to face other accusations and news that have been leveled against him for many years, which will bring him into disrepute.
It is expected that in the next two to three days, Prince Andrew or his legal team will explain the matter.
According to the BBC, Prince Andrew has been given until September 17 to respond and it is likely that the Queen's youngest son's legal team will work out a plan of action by September 15.
In the lawsuit against Prince Andrew, the woman accused him of sexually abusing her at her residence in New York, including London, when she was a minor.
It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
Virginia Goofy initially accused Prince Andrew of sexual abuse in August 2019.
The woman made the allegations against the Queen's son after the arrest of American businessman Jeffrey Upston, who later committed suicide in prison.
At the time, the woman also claimed that Jeffrey Upston pressured her to have sex with a British prince on three different occasions, from 1999 to 2001, and that Prince Andrew had "sex" with her at least three times. He also termed the process as 'forced'.
Prince Andrew denied the allegations in a statement issued Friday stating "Similar, baseless allegations concerning Prince Andrew's case have been made more than once.
