The Taliban have hinted at banning women from participating in other sports, including cricket.
Speaking to Australian media, Ahmadullah Wasiq, deputy head of the Afghanistan Cultural Commission, said women's participation in cricket and other sports could be banned because it was not necessary for women to play cricket, a situation that could be faced in cricket. There is a place where the body and face cannot be hidden and Islam does not allow clothing that is naked.
On the other hand, the ICC has expressed concern over the denial of women cricket in Afghanistan and said that it has a keen eye on the changing situation in Afghanistan, but women's cricket should be allowed in Afghanistan.
