Reports published in the Indian media on the claim of ISIS have confirmed that the suicide bomber Abdul Rehman Al-Laghoori had enrolled in a college in Faridabad, Haryana in 2016.
An official of India's notorious intelligence agency RAW told Indian media that after enrolling in the college, Abdul Rehman, instead of continuing his studies, used to travel around the capital Delhi and take pictures of many places. He was detained for suspicious and secret activities.
Indian law enforcement agencies failed to obtain any substantial evidence from Abdul Rehman, who was handed over to the Afghan government, where during interrogation, the accused described several ISIS training camps.
The Indian intelligence agency RAW hailed the Afghan military's investigation as a success, claiming that a joint operation with the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) targeted ISIS strongholds in Afghanistan, killing more than 600 people. Most of the fighters were killed, but independent sources could not confirm this.
On the other hand, after the Taliban took full control of Afghanistan, the prison was broken and the prisoners were released, during which Abdul Rehman also managed to get out of the prison and rejoined ISIS. He later blew himself up in a crowd at the entrance to Kabul Airport on August 26.
