KABUL: Three Taliban militants were killed and more than 20 civilians were injured in blasts in the Afghan capital Kabul and the city of Jalalabad.
According to the International News Agency, a roadside bomb exploded in Jalalabad, the capital of Afghanistan's Nangarhar Province, as a Taliban Rangers patrol vehicle passed by. Local officials in Nangarhar province confirm that a roadside mine hit a Taliban forces vehicle on Saturday in Jalalabad’s PD6. Nangarhar provincial hospital officials said around 20 wounded have been transferred to the hospital, most of whom are civilians.#TOLOnews
The blast killed three Taliban militants and injured 20 others, most of them civilians. The dead and injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital where the death toll is expected to rise as the condition of four injured is critical.
Meanwhile, a powerful blast took place in Tirah, a Hazara-majority area in Kabul. An ambulance was seen heading towards the scene while police and Taliban personnel cordoned off the scene.
Police say the blast was an improvised explosive device, injuring more than two people. The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
No group has claimed responsibility for the bombings.
