The Walt Disney Company has said that it will release 'Eternal', 'West Side Story' and other films of its 2021 exclusively in cinemas before releasing them on the streaming site.
According to the British news agency 'Reuters', the company had experimented with releasing some movies simultaneously in Disney Plus streaming service and theaters during the global epidemic.
Cinema operators are scrutinizing how Disney, the movie box-dominated company, will handle its upcoming films, as the Delta variant has slowed audiences' return to theaters.
Disney said in a statement that the animated musical "Ancinto" will hit theaters for 30 days from November 24 and will be released on Disney Plus just before Christmas.
The film tells the story of a family living in a magical house in the mountains of Colombia, with music by Len-Manuel Miranda of Hamilton.
The company said all of Disney's other films, including the Marvel film Eternals released in November and Steven Spielberg's West Side Story in December, will be shown exclusively in theaters for at least 45 days.
Disney's latest film, Marvel's Shang Chi and The Legend of Ten Rings, set a ڈالر 94.7 million ticket sale at the American and Canadian theaters on Labor Day weekend alone.
The film, which features mostly Asian cast with Samu Liu and Okaufina, was only released in theaters.
