The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a man in Peshawar on charges of allegedly raping and sexually abusing a minor girl in the United States by illegally accessing her through a SnapChat account.
Tahir Khan, deputy director of the FIA's cybercrime wing, said the father and son were arrested during the investigation and the son confessed to the crime, after which the father was released.
According to an FIR filed by the FIA in Peshawar, the agency launched the inquiry after receiving information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the United States. A minor girl living in Reston fell victim to the alleged sexual lust of a man living in the Hayatabad area of Peshawar.
The FIR states that the victim was targeted through SnapChat and threatened that if she did not chat, he would release nude photos of her which would be used for child pornography.
He added that the accused contacted the victim through his Instagram account.
According to the FIR, the victim as well as law enforcement agencies tried to contact SnapChat to deactivate the account but the social media app officials did not respond, during which the suspect identified the minor girl. Nude photo of SnapChat sent direct messages to people in contact with her.
Following an administrative request, Facebook provided the FBI with information about the Instagram account that the suspect was using, after which they forwarded the information to the FIA.
The FIA launched an investigation based on the FBI statement, the investigating agency searched and confiscated the warrant and raided the accused's home, arrested the father and son and confiscated their mobile phones.
According to the FIR, the father said that although the mobile number was registered in his name but was used by his son, his son confirmed his statement and pleaded guilty, after which the boy's father was released on bail. Done.
According to the FIR, the accused was questioned and admitted that he had illegally accessed the minor victim's SnapChat account and later found a nude photo of her. Used a clear image to blackmail him and he wanted the girl to send more such images.
In this regard, it was further stated that some pictures of the minor girl were also found from the phone of the accused.
According to the FIR, there is ample evidence to prove that the accused committed the crime and further investigation will continue.
The FIR was registered under Section 3, Section 4, Section and Section 22 (Child Pornography), Electronic Crime Prevention Act 2016, and Section 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
