A video of former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani leaving the country has surfaced.
A short video of Ashraf Ghani's "escape" from Afghanistan is going viral on social media, showing him boarding an Afghan Airlines Kam Air flight from Kabul Airport. On this occasion, government officials said goodbye to him. Ashraf Ghani stood on the last step of the plane and waved goodbye.
It is believed that the Taliban had started entering the capital Kabul from all sides on Sunday morning, but on this important occasion, the Taliban prevented the militants from entering the city. The Taliban also announced that they would not seize Kabul by force, after which a Taliban delegation arrived at the presidential palace for talks.
In the evening, Afghan police and army personnel fled their duty from various urban districts, after which Taliban fighters entered the city to maintain law and order.
