Twenty-four people were arrested in a case of harassment of a woman Tuck Tucker and her accomplices on the occasion of Independence Day, while the Punjab Chief Minister suspended senior police officers for negligence and failure to take immediate action.
The suspects were arrested by matching records with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and through geo-fencing, Federal Minister for Human Rights Shirin Mazari said in a Twitter message.
"More arrests are expected today in connection with this heinous incident," he said.
He said that a police inquiry was also underway into the alleged negligence of police officers in the harassment case.
Later, after meeting Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar and other senior officials, the provincial police chief said that senior police officers had been suspended for negligence and delay in taking action on the incident.
Inspector General (IG) Inam Ghani tweeted: "We have suspended SHOs and SDPOs while removing Divisional SPs, SSP Operations and DIG Operations Lahore from their posts." Has gone '.

Earlier, in a high level meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar, the Chief Minister expressed grave concern over the incident of rape of a woman at Minar Pakistan.
He lamented the delay in the response of the police to the incident and other incidents and said that the police response to the incident of assault on the woman and other incidents has been slow.
The IG Punjab submitted the final preliminary report on the tragic incident to the woman to Chief Minister Usman Bazdar and he was apprised of all aspects of the incident.
The incident took place on August 14 when the woman and her colleagues were filming near Minar Pakistan.
According to the woman, she was harassed by hundreds of people in Lahore Greater Park. She and her colleagues tried their best to avoid the crowd and considering the situation, the security guard opened the door near Minar-e-Pakistan.

The woman further said that her ring and earrings were also forcibly taken away while her mobile phone, identity card and Rs 15,000 were also snatched from her partner.
The case was registered at the Lari Ada police station in Lahore on August 17 on the complaint of the woman.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had also taken notice of the incident and had contacted the Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police.
