The Taliban have instructed the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) to resume its activities.
After the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, the future of other popular sports, including football and cricket, was in question.
Interestingly, the Afghanistan cricket team not only has to play a bilateral series against Pakistan but also to participate in the T20 World Cup to be held five years later.
Concerns were raised about the future of the cricket team's major assignments that the Afghan team would not be able to participate in the tour and event.
However, there are now reports that the Taliban have issued clear instructions to the Afghanistan Cricket Board in this regard.
According to sources, the Taliban have instructed the cricket board to resume its normal activities.
Sources said that the Afghanistan Cricket Board contacted the Taliban representatives and said that so far they have not received any indication that they could hit cricket in the country.
Sources also said that the ACB would not face any problem other than logistics.
