The Beiman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Muscat to Dhaka left for Dhaka 11 hours after making an emergency landing in the Indian city of Nagpur. According to India TV, the pilot of the flight had a heart attack during the journey, due to which the plane had to make an emergency landing. The condition of the pilot was said to be critical even when the plane left for Dhaka. There were 126 passengers on board.
A senior official at Nagpur Airport said the new crew had been arranged for the flight by Beiman Bangladesh Airlines. The crew reached Nagpur by plane and took the flight to Dhaka. The pilot of the flight, who suffered a heart attack, is still in critical condition and is being treated at a private hospital in Nagpur.
According to the spokesperson, the plane was near Raipur when the pilot had a heart attack. He had contacted Calcutta Airport for an emergency landing from where he was asked to land at Nagpur Airport as it was the nearest. The co-pilot landed the plane safely at Nagpur Airport.
