Details of CCTV footage and cameras of the incident of assault with a woman in Greater Iqbal Park have come to light.

According to private TV, the incident of assault on the woman started in broad daylight. Khatun Minar is going under Pakistan with her companions. In the beginning, people are taking selfies with the woman and the crowd is chasing the woman.

The footage showed that the woman could have easily walked off the ground, with the lone security guard forbidding the large crowd, but then slowly the crowd grew larger, darker with light but the incident continued. A large number of people have surrounded the woman. Instead of rescuing her, people have been making videos on mobile phones. There are 60 CCTV cameras installed in Minar Pakistan Ground, out of which more than half, i.e. 35 cameras are faulty. Cameras have been damaged by high and low voltages and public rocking.

Besides, Chief Minister Usman Bazdar has also ordered an inquiry against the police. According to provincial government spokesman Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan, negligent police personnel will be identified. The Punjab government has formed a police inquiry committee which will determine the responsibility of the police personnel stationed in Greater Iqbal and respond to the police. The nature will also be reviewed, delay in filing of FIR will also be investigated, comprehensive report will be submitted to IG Punjab by August 22.
