Saudi Arabia has urged the Taliban and all Afghan parties to protect the lives and property of the people in the country.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry issued its first statement on Twitter on Monday, a day after the Taliban entered and controlled the Afghan capital, Kabul, saying that Saudi Arabia stood by the election without any outside interference from the Afghan people. It is hoped that the situation in Afghanistan will stabilize soon. The Taliban took control of most parts of the country, including the capital Kabul, on Sunday, and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani left power by plane from Kabul International Airport.
