US President Joe Biden has blamed ISIS for the Kabul airport bombings and threatened to retaliate.
President Joe Biden, speaking to the media at the White House, ordered attacks on the militant group's leadership and said: "There is no evidence of a nexus between ISIS and the Taliban in connection with the bombings at Kabul airport. "Although the Taliban are not good people, they cannot carry out the bombings because it is in their own interest to keep the road open to Kabul airport."
President Biden said: "The attack on US troops is being planned by ISIS extremists and people who have been released from prisons in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of NATO forces. Wherever those responsible for these explosions are, we will find them. In any case, they will have to pay the price for this attack. We will respond to those responsible for these bombings with our own strength and wherever we want. “
It should be noted that 90 people, including 13 American soldiers, were killed and more than 140 were injured in the suicide bombings that took place at Kabul Airport yesterday. A large number of children and women were among the dead and wounded. ISIS has also claimed responsibility for the blasts.
