Police in the US state of California have launched an investigation into pop singer Britney Spears, 39, for allegedly torturing an employee.
Los Angeles Sheriff's County police launched an investigation against the singer after a complaint was lodged by an employee.
An employee of Britney Spears has lodged a complaint that the singer assaulted her, police said.
According to officials, the investigation into the incident so far has not confirmed any serious injuries, however, investigations are underway into various aspects of the matter.
Officials said that after completing the investigation, the report will be handed over to the prosecutors, who will decide on any legal action against the singer.
On the other hand, Britney Spears' lawyer said that no one was injured in the case, the issue is being raised, the investigation should be stopped immediately.
Although Britney Spears' lawyer made it clear that no one was injured in the incident, she did not explicitly deny the allegations of violence against the employee.
Allegations of violence against a personal employee against Britney Spears come at a time when her "patronage" case is pending in a Los Angeles court.
Britney Spears has filed a lawsuit in court seeking the removal of her father, who has been her legal guardian for the past 13 years.
The singer's father, James Spears, had also filed a petition in the court last week, in which he agreed to resign from "guardianship" for the sake of his daughter's happiness.
Documents he submitted to the court stated that he was ready to step down from his responsibilities for a better future for his daughter.
However, the documents did not specify how long he would be in office.
