Uzbekistan has shot down an Afghan fighter jet, while 22 military planes and 24 military helicopters have been forcibly landed, illegally capturing about 600 Afghan personnel after the Taliban took control of Kabul. They were being carried into the airspace.

585 personnel aboard 46 Afghan aircraft were forcibly landed at Tirmiz Airport in the southern part of Uzbekistan, which was seized on Saturday and Sunday. According to a statement issued by the Uzbek Ministry of Defense, an Afghan military plane was targeted by the Uzbek air defense system for entering the airspace illegally, but the State Prosecutor's Office's statement differed from that of the Uzbek Ministry of Defense.
