President Ashraf Ghani is preparing to resign and move abroad with his family after the Taliban took control of most of Afghanistan.
Indian broadcaster News 18 has claimed that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has decided to resign after consulting with his colleagues, after which he will move to a third country with his family.
News18 claims that the revelation was made by an important and close associate of President Ashraf Ghani on condition of anonymity. Ashraf Ghani will soon formally announce his resignation.
Sources also told News18 that President Ashraf Ghani's recent video message was recorded last night, so the message did not announce his resignation, but the president is seriously considering resigning.
On the other hand, according to Tolo News, President Ashraf Ghani, in a radio message that came to light, claimed that "the situation is under control" and vowed that he would not allow any more war and bloodshed in Afghanistan.
It should be noted that the news of the resignation of President Ashraf Ghani came at a time when Taliban fighters are only 50 kilometers away from the Afghan capital Kabul and the US embassy.
