Press Secretary Jane Sackie has ruled out any immediate US recognition of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, saying "neither the US nor any of our allies are in a hurry to recognize them."
"Afghanistan is not the only place in the world where we are working with our opponents," Jane Sackie said in response to a question.
Asked about the full US withdrawal, the press secretary said the Taliban could not be trusted so a full withdrawal from Afghanistan could be dangerous.
Press Secretary Jane Sackie also stressed that the threat of terrorism still exists in Afghanistan and that our troops are still there.
