Extreme heat waves have killed at least 100 people in two US states.
The death toll from the scorching heat in the northwestern US states of Oregon and Washington has risen sharply.
There have been 63 deaths in the US state of Oregon since Friday, including 45 in Portland.
Other deaths occurred in the state of Washington, where temperatures were recorded at 48 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
