The threat of a ban on tik-tok has reached the court

 

An application has been filed in the Supreme Court to ban the social media application Tik Tok.

The petition further states that people are also making videos of attempts like suicide to get views on Tik Tok, while the content on it is against the Islamic laws of Pakistan.

 The petition filed by Ali Zeb, a resident of Pakpattan, contends that tick-tock is promoting crime on which people use drugs and weapons and upload videos while the use of tick-tock in educational institutions. The environment is deteriorating.

The petitioner requested that effective policy-making be done by partially shutting down Tik Tok and ordering the government to set up a mechanism to censor the content. Earlier, the Peshawar High Court had banned Tik Tok. Which was later overturned by the court itself.

On the other hand, there is an application called Snack Video in comparison to Tik Tok, which is also providing compensation to the users and that is why most of the users have left Tik Tok and moved to a new app.
