The prime minister has resigned

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lfin has resigned after a no-confidence motion was passed against him in parliament. He has sent his resignation to the Speaker of the National Assembly who will now form the new government.

"Sweden is going through a very difficult political and parliamentary situation, which is why he called on his prime minister today. The Speaker has been asked to resign from the post. He said it was now up to National Assembly Speaker Andreas Norlin to find an alternative government. He further added that if the parliament re-elects him as the Prime Minister then he is ready for it. Following Lufin's resignation, the Speaker of the Swedish National Assembly will convene a meeting of all parliamentary parties to form a new government. Before resigning, Stefan Lفfven met with King Carl Gustav of Sweden at the Royal Palace early in the morning and informed him of his decision.

Prime Minister Levin was drafting a new law on raising house rents in the country, which was moved by the opposition after a massive public protest, which was also supported by the Prime Minister's coalition partner, the Left Party.

Stephen Lfn has become the first prime minister in Sweden's history to step down after a no-confidence motion failed. Stephen Loffen, 54, was elected prime minister for the first time in 2014 and became prime minister for the second time in 2019 through a coalition government. However, after four months of political turmoil, Stephen was able to form a weak government.
