Former Bollywood actress Pooja Bedi has revealed that she left Bollywood to love her ex-husband and become a good wife and daughter-in-law.
Pooja Bedi, who started her film career in 1992 with 'Jo Jita, Wohi Sikandar', has also acted in other Indian language films including 'Lutere, Vishkania, Atanak Hi Atanak, Phar Teri Kahani Yaad Aaye'.
Pooja Bedi has also acted in a number of dramas since she appeared in the fifth season of the reality show 'Bigg Boss' in 2011, but she has been away from showbiz and especially Bollywood films for the past several years.
Although Pooja Bedi is seen in showbiz events and as a guest on TV reality shows, she has not acted in any film or drama for at least a decade and a half.
Pooja Bedi married industrialist Farhan Furniturewala in 1994 and the two divorced in 2003.
Pooja Bedi has 2 children, a daughter and a son. Her daughter has started her career with Saif Ali Khan in the film 'Jawani Janman'.
Pooja Bedi made headlines in the Indian media in 2019 when she got engaged to her longtime boyfriend at the age of 48, 16 years after her first marriage ended.
Now at the age of 51, Pooja Bedi has not remarried, but she is living happily with her fianc Manik Contractor.
Recently, Pooja Bedi spoke openly with actor Sameer Soni on Instagram about the distance from Bollywood and said that in fact she had distanced herself from films to be a good wife and daughter-in-law.
She said that even before the marriage, her ex-husband had told her that if she married him, she would have to give up movies because her family was a bit old-fashioned.
Pooja Bedi said that she did not stay away from films under duress or compulsion but she decided happily and she has no regrets, as she spent 12 years of her youth in a good relationship and their married life was successful. ۔
She said that because of her decision, her marriage went well and she had two children in 12 years, while after the divorce in 2003, she still has a good relationship with her ex-husband.
