Low water level has affected hydropower generation in Tarbela, WAPDA said

 

A spokesman for WAPDA said that the water level in Tarbela Reservoir was decreasing and the production of hydropower in Tarbela was affected due to low water level.

WAPDA spokesperson said that Tarbela is generating 1317 MW of hydropower, Ghazi Brotha is generating 1445 MW of hydropower, while Mangla is supplying 839 MW to the national grid.

WAPDA says that Neelum Jhelum Hydel Power Station is generating 969 MW of electricity, while other hydropower plants of WAPDA are supplying 700 MW to the national grid.

The spokesman said that a total of 5270 MW of electricity is being generated from WAPDA's hydropower plants.
