Prime Minister Imran Khan has been briefed on the use of electronic voting machine in the election process in the country.
Prime Minister Imran Khan was briefed on the use of electronic voting machine in the election process in a meeting chaired by him.
The briefing was also attended by Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz, Leader of the House in the Senate Senator Dr. Shehzad Wasim, Federal Prime Ministers Khan Swati, Farrukh Habib and Advisor to the Prime Minister Babar Awan.
The Prime Minister and Ministers were given a detailed briefing on the use of electronic voting machine in electoral reforms and the progress made so far on legislation.
Prime Minister Imran Khan directed for transparency in the use of EVMs in the electoral process and fulfillment of all constitutional requirements.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the present government was committed to ensuring transparency in the electoral process of the country.
He said that the use of electronic voting machine is the only option to prevent fraud and ensure transparency in the election process.
The Prime Minister further said that overseas Pakistanis are the assets of the country, they must be involved in the electoral process.
Imran Khan also directed in the meeting that electoral reforms, electronic voting and voting process for overseas Pakistanis should be completed soon.
