Yemen: Houthi militia threatens kidnapped female fashion model's lawyer

 

The Yemeni Bar Association in Sanaa has condemned threats by Houthi militias against the lawyer of Yemeni fashion model and artist Intisar al-Hamadi, who has been held in Houthi prisons since being forcibly disappeared in February this year.

According to media reports, the lawyers' association said in a statement that it had been informed by al-Hamadi's lawyer and legal adviser, Advocate Khalid Mahmoud al-Kamal, that he had been intimidated and threatened at gunpoint in the al-Raqas area in central Sanaa. The purpose of this move is for Al-Kamal to drop the case of his client. The statement of the association termed this move against Advocate Khalid Mahmood Al-Kamal as a foolish act and a criminal act. According to the association, fighting a case in defense of any person is a matter guaranteed by the constitution and the law, to go beyond that is to destroy human rights and freedoms.

The Bar Association believes that any harm to the life of Advocate Khalid Mahmoud al-Kamal will be the responsibility of the security agencies run by the Houthi militia. Intisar al-Hamadi was born in 2001. Her father was from Yemen and her mother was from Ethiopia. Yes, she does fashion modeling as well as modeling for movies.
