PML-N president and opposition leader in the National Assembly Mian Shahbaz Sharif was barred from going abroad at Lahore airport, FIA immigration officials said, adding that the PML-N president's name was still on the blacklist by the Interior Ministry. Not removed, clearance not issued in the system, they were offloaded due to lack of update in the immigration system, so they will be allowed to board the plane once the name is cleared.
According to details, after getting permission from the Lahore High Court, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif reached Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore for departure abroad, where dozens of workers were also present to bid him farewell. However, when Shahbaz Sharif arrived at the airport premises to collect his boarding card, the FIA immigration officials stopped the PML-N president from boarding the plane due to his inclusion in the PNI list.
On this occasion, Shahbaz Sharif and the PML-N leaders also showed the order of the Lahore High Court to the FIA immigration officials. However, the officials said that the name of Shahbaz Sharif has not been removed from the blacklist by the Interior Ministry. The clearance has not been issued, they cannot be allowed to board the plane due to lack of update in the immigration system, only if their name is cleared in the system then they will be allowed to board the plane.
At the Lahore airport, the PML-N leaders kept arguing with the immigration officials for a long time. On this occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that there was an order of the Lahore High Court and they were allowed one-time travel, to stop them despite the order of the High Court. It is illegal. Despite the controversy and debate, when the immigration authorities did not allow him to board the plane, Shahbaz Sharif has returned home from Lahore airport.
