A fighter jet flying from Las Vegas Niles Air Force Base has crashed, killing the pilot.
According to media reports, the plane was reported to have crashed at around 2.30 pm last afternoon. The explosion of the house of the wrecked plane was heard from afar while the smoke rising from the crash site was also seen from afar. The NTSB has confirmed that the crashed plane was a Dassault Aviation Marriage F-1.
The Marriage F-1 is a French airliner that was flown in the 1960s and deactivated in June 2014. The crashed plane is also said to have landed in a residential area. It was not immediately clear if the pilot died during or after the crash.
