A Sri Lankan Airbus A320 Navy was hit by a ground vehicle at Male Airport in the Maldives, causing no casualties but severe damage to the plane.
According to aviation sources, the Sri Lankan Air flight from Bandar Anik International Airport in Colombo reached Male Airport. The Airbus A320 was parked at New Airport and was preparing for the return flight UL1116 when a flight handling staff vehicle collided with an Airbus.
It was reported that there were no passengers on board and no one was injured in the incident but the plane was damaged.
The crashed Airbus A320 was delivered to SriLankan Airlines in March 2017, which is four years and one month old. The incident is being investigated.
