The President of the Indian Supreme Court Bar Association has revealed that the recently retired Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Bobre Babri, wanted to mediate with Shah Rukh Khan in the Masjid controversy.
Justice A. Bobre retired from the post of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India two days ago. He was one of the five judges in the Babri Masjid case.
At a farewell function hosted by the Supreme Court Bar Association in honor of Justice Bobre, the bar's president and senior lawyer Vikas Singh revealed that Justice Bobre wanted the Ayodhya issue to be resolved through mediation and for that he was a Bollywood actor. They wanted to take the services of Shah Rukh Khan.
According to Advocate Vikas Singh, at the behest of Justice Bobre, he also spoke to Shah Rukh Khan, which he agreed to because he himself believed that mediation was the best way for Hindus and Muslims to live together.
According to Vikas Singh, unfortunately the arbitration process could not proceed and the court pronounced its verdict.
On November 9, 2019, a five-member bench of the Supreme Court of India headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Ganguly ruled in the Babri Masjid case.
The Indian Supreme Court, while handing over the land of Babri Masjid to Hindus, had said that Muslims should be given an alternative place in Ayodhya and the Sunni Waqf Board should be given 5 acres of alternative land.
