Leaf or leaf fish is common in the Amazon rainforest of Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Brazil and Venezuela. It floats like a lifeless twisted leaf and lures its prey and makes it a snack.
Evolution has shaped it into a leaf, and the edge of its lower jaw also resembles a leaf stalk. This brown fish is curved, crooked and often looks down at what looks like a leaf. In this way it deceives both its prey and its prey. It's also called Amazon Leaffish.
Its hunting style is also very good. It expands its jaw and moves forward in the water and reaches the prey. Deadlefish eat up to one-third and two-thirds of their body. It is so gluttonous that it eats food equal to its weight in a day.
It was first spotted in 1920 and was first identified as a dead fish. It was later discovered that this was her rational way of proving herself dead. Even though it is reared, it is not always the right decision because of its aggressive predatory nature.
