A glacier eruption in the Indian state of Uttarakhand has killed 10 people.
According to India Today, a glacier erupted in Chamoli district near the India-China border on Friday, killing 10 people and leaving eight missings. Authorities have rescued 384 people in a rescue operation.
Indian Army rescue teams are conducting rescue operations in the area and evacuating people on the way to the landslide. The area where the glacier has erupted has been receiving snow and rain for the past five days, which has hampered relief efforts. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured the state government of all possible cooperation.
