Female wrestler commits suicide after losing a match

 
After the suicide of a female wrestler who lost her wrestling match, the sports officer said that the competition was conducted in a completely fair manner.

According to Indian media, after the suicide of the female wrestler, Bharatpur District Sports Officer Satya Prakash said in her statement that the competition was held in a completely fair manner and Ritika went home happily after the match.

The officer said it was difficult to say why Ritika had taken such a drastic step. They are shocked and saddened to learn of his death.

Wrestler Ritika Fogat competed in the Junior Women's Wrestling Championships in Bharatpur, Rajasthan from March 12 to 14. The state-level competitions featured all junior, junior women's and men's wrestling events.


Ritika reached the women's wrestling final, but there was some mischief in the match. At the end of the match, first Ritika was declared the winner but there was a debate over points after which Ritika's opponent was declared the winner.

After the 6-minute match, Ritika went home, but that night she committed suicide by setting a trap, which the family found out in the morning.

Ritika was also the niece of renowned wrestler Mahavir Singh Fogat and had been training in his arena for 5 years. Mahavir Singh's daughters Geeta and Babita are also well-known wrestlers in the country on whom the Bollywood film Dingal has been made.

A wave of grief swept across the country after the incident, with police investigating the case on various lines.
