Civil disobedience movement begins in Myanmar

 

A civil disobedience movement was launched against the military coup in Myanmar, with staff at government hospitals leaving work in protest.

The member states could not agree on a joint statement at the emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, asking for more time to discuss the joint statement.

In Myanmar, on the other hand, doctors have started a civil disobedience movement and staff at several hospitals have stopped working.

G7 member states have also condemned the military coup and called for recognition of the election results.

Myanmar's army chief has said the Sochi government's departure was inevitable for the country and that is why he chose this path.
