The Turkish Foundation has announced that the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will receive the May 19 Turkish World Resurrection Award. The award will be given to him for his services in liberating his occupied territory after 30 years in the Battle of Karabakh.
The award was launched on May 19, 1919, by Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey. He presented the awards to Central Asian countries for their victories in various wars.
Yahya Akinjan, head of the Turkish World Authors and Artists Foundation, said that the Azerbaijani army under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had made a new history of courage and bravery and that the award was given for the victory of Karabakh.
He said the award would be presented to President Ilham Aliyev at a ceremony following the reduction in the coronavirus epidemic.
It should be noted that Kamal Ataturk started the Turkish War of Independence on May 19, 1919, in the Black Sea coastal city of Samson, after which a new era of development began in Turkey. Kamal Atatرکrk declared May 19 Youth and Sports Day and declared it a public holiday.
