Leading Iranian cleric Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi has issued a message to the families of the miners killed in the Machh tragedy.
According to ARY News, Makarem Shirazi, the main Shiite scholar of Iran, issued a message to the Hazara community in which he appealed to the families of the martyrs to bury their bodies.
He said that the families of the martyrs should be asked to bury their loved ones. Burial does not mean that they will back down from their demands.
He said that the killing of the miners was a cause of grief and shock.
Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said, "Respect for the pure body of martyrs is obligatory on all of us. Pakistani scholars have also requested for early burial of martyrs. We have prayed for high ranks of martyrs in the court of God." He also prayed for the patience of the bereaved families.
It should be noted that seven days ago, 11 workers of a coal mine in Machh area of Balochistan were abducted by unknown persons and then taken to the mountains and their throats were cut.
The terrorists cut the miners' throats and then left their bodies in the mountains before fleeing. Seven of the dead are from Afghanistan, whose bodies have been requested by Afghanistan to return. ۔
After the incident, the family members started a sit-in on the Western Northern Bypass of Quetta 6 days ago which is still going on. The family members have made the burial of the bodies conditional on the arrival of the Prime Minister while Imran Khan gave a clear message. We will visit Quetta.
Several attempts were made by the government to hold talks with the family members. In this regard, the Balochistan government officials held talks with the Martyrs Committee which failed, then Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid reached to convince the protesters but could not succeed. The Balochistan Chief Minister shortened his private visit to Dubai and reached out to the sit-in protesters but to no avail.
The federal government also sent Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistan Zulfi Bukhari to take up the matter. Both tried hard to persuade the protesters but their families did not give up their demands.
Ali Zaidi, on the other hand, claimed that the protesters wanted to bury the bodies of their loved ones but some people were preventing them from doing so and they were basing their politics on the corpses. The federal minister claimed that he had spoken to the protesters but was stopped by a few unscrupulous people.
