Keesha Ram, the granddaughter of Sir Ganga Ram, the founder of modern Lahore, has been elected a member of the US Senate.

Keesha Ram has been elected a senator from the state of Vermont by the Democratic Party. His swearing-in ceremony took place on January 6, in which Kesha Ram attended wearing a shalwar kameez. Kesha Ram, 34, has been heavily involved in political activities before. At age 22, she was elected to the Burlington University District and Hill Section and served for eight years. Kesha Ram's father was Hindu and his mother was Jewish. ۔

Keesha Ram's wooden grandfather Sir Rai Bahadur Ganga Ram was a great structural engineer in the history of United India. He is also called the father of modern Lahore. He designed the Lahore Museum, General Post Office (GPO), Aitchison College, Mayo School of Arts, Mayo Hospital's Sir Albert Victor Hall and Government College University's Chemistry Department. The Sir Ganga Ram Hospital named after him is still providing medical facilities to thousands of patients daily.
