Electric vehicles are being given priority around the world to combat climate change, and Norway has become a worldwide hotspot where the demand for electric cars has outpaced that of petrol cars. According to The Independent, 54% of the cars sold in Norway last year were electric cars.
Sales of electric cars in Norway rose from 42.4% in 2019 to 54.3% in 2020, a world record. With this increase in sales of electric vehicles, Norway has become the first country in the world to sell more electric vehicles than petrol vehicles. According to the report, Norway is one of the countries that is determined to get rid of petrol and diesel vehicles by 2025.
