Saudi Arabia has launched the world's tenth most powerful supercomputer, the Dammam 7.
Saudi oil company Aramco, along with Saudi Telecom Company (STC), announced on Tuesday that it has built the world's tenth most powerful supercomputer.
According to Arab News, Dammam 7 will help Aramco with research and discovery, an important step towards the company's digitization. The Dammam 7 supercomputer has been built in Al-Dhahran Techno Valley in collaboration with STC's subsidiary Solutions, in addition to Hewlett, a subsidiary of Packard Enterprises.
The number of supercomputers in the kingdom has increased to five since Dammam 7 in Saudi Arabia, which was launched on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. In terms of supercomputers, China tops the list with 214 computers, followed by the United States with 113 and Japan with 34 supercomputers. The world's most powerful supercomputer is Japan's Fogako, launched in 2020. ۔
