The Pakistan Information Commission (PIC) has ordered the release of all documents related to the ban on the social media platform Tik Tok. Significant progress has been made in the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority's (PTA) ban on the social media application Tik Tok.
Nadeem Omar, a local resident, had ticked off the request for documents related to the closure of the PTA.
The PIC said in its order that notices and summaries of any government decision are public documents. The PTA rejected the request in light of the Access to Information Act.
PIC members Mohammad Azam, Zahid Abdullah and Fawad Malik ruled in favor of the citizen and ordered the release of all documents related to the ban on Tik Tok. The decision on Nadeem Omar's request has been written by Information Commissioner Zahid Abdullah.
