In the Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, an American hunter caught the largest horned markhor.
Edward Joseph, an American citizen, hunted a markhor in the Toshi area of Chitral.
According to DFO Lower Chitral, Markhor is 10 years old and has 44 inches long horns.
According to the International Coalition for the Protection of Natural Resources, predators are considered endangered species.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Conservator Dr. Mohsin Farooq said the money obtained from Markhor hunting permits would be spent on local welfare projects.
He added that the money would also be used to protect wildlife in the region.
Dr Mohsin Farooq further said that the provincial government issues four permits for markhor hunting on an annual basis.
He said that three permits are issued for hunting Markhor in Chitral and one for hunting in Kohistan.
