DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar says that efforts are being made to make Pakistan a wing of ISIS, there are some groups who are trying to gain attention by using the name of ISIS, we are pursuing ISIS. ۔
An Iranian journalist present at the DG ISPR press conference asked about the presence of ISIS in Balochistan and the security situation on the Pak-Iran border.
A Pakistani female journalist also asked about the same and said that 700 ISIS fighters were deployed in Afghanistan near the Pakistani border with the aim of targeting C-Pak. Pakistan works on the border situation with Afghanistan and Iran, but do they work too? The female journalist also mentioned that the report of the European Union Disinfo Lab also mentioned the Pashtun Protection Movement (PTM).
Replying to these questions, DG ISP Major General Babar Iftikhar said that there is cooperation and coordination between the Pak-Iranian forces, there are no security issues between Pakistan and Iran, we have very good relations.
"We are in contact with Afghanistan and Iran at the governmental and military levels," he said. ISIL is present in Afghanistan and it is being supported by RAW, we keep expressing our concerns to the Afghan government, when Afghan territory is used against Pakistan we do not blame the Afghan government because we know that They have power issues.
DG ISPR said that ISIL has external support, efforts are being made to form ISIL Pakistan wing so that operations can be carried out here. ISIL does not have such a large presence in Pakistan but various groups are using the name of ISIL to take credit and gain attention, we are pursuing ISIL.
Referring to the PTM, the DG ISPR said that the EU was reviewing all the facts contained in the Info Lab report.
